Homecoming!

Since Homecoming is coming up for both of our schools, I've decided to write a little blog entry about it. I've discovered that homecoming and can be one of two things; a dream come true or a nightmare.

I've seen mostly the nighmare part of homecoming. For two groups, or at least people in two of them, homecoming has been nothing but one disaster after another. One of my friends doesn't seem to find the right group to go with. She moved from one group to another, but everything still seems horrible. The people don't seem to understand and she's now regretting going. In another group there is just one person that likes to shake things up in the worst way possible. Who knew that going to a dance with friends or a date could be soo stressful or just plain annoying?

I've been lucky. My group is doing well for a first homecoming. We have reservations, an activity and rides because we can't drive, pooey! This has been a dream come true, for me, but for other people and can be considered horrible. Good thing it's only frosh homecoming!

Who knew homecoming could be sooo horrible for some people, and still have some fairy-tale endings for others!

<----- That's my seat for every Sox game I go to. Seat 8, first few rows up! Gotta love it!
Its the perfect seat! Every annoying usher comes by, every loud hot dog guy comes by, and even the people that let you stand on the dug-out and cheer for a type of pizza come by!
I'm picky about what sports I like to watch. I really only watch two types of sports; collage football and Pro baseball, preferably the Sox.
If you've ever gone to a game with me, you would know that I say I don't like peanuts, but I end up eating your whole bag. I don't like hot dogs, so instead I only eat ice-cream or curly fries. Those are my baseball traditions. What are yours? Do you even like baseball, or just the cute outfits you can wear?
Baseball is something I can watch all day...just so you know.

Ishtar...She's not that innocent

As Britney Spears once sang "I'm not that innocent." The song is a classic tale of the misconception of who this little girl is. Is she just a school girl or a heart breaker she claims to be. Ishtar is another perfect example of this misconception. Ishtar can be perceived as an innocent girl trying to have a tradtional wedding or some sort. She did all the traditional rituals that take place when a wedding is in full effect. On the other hand, Ishtar takes on a stronger/braver role when she decents into the underworld. In another story, she is portrayed as a girl that "gets around." In that story she gets her revenge on Gilgamesh. Some people might think that all these stories are just myths or improbable to people now, but those people probably don't know who Britney Spears is.

Britney Spears "...Miss american dream since I was 17" is known to adults as a physco, known to children as a physco, and known to people in our generation as our idols when we were little. Britney Spears entered my mind when I was in kindergarten and in 1st grade. Back then, she was known as an innocent girl who was on the Mickey Mouse Club and just another pop singer. Through the ages, she started to walk down a different path. She started to descend downward with her spontaneous marriages and pregnancies. She got her revenge by shaving her head and attacking many other people and many cars or possesions. She could still be perceived as innocent to the generation who got to know her and love her, but she can be perceived as a physco to children and adults.
There are many differnt sides to Britney, just like there are many different sides to Ishtar. Having different sides or different fan bases can change how you're percieved. Ishtar...MAYBE she's not that innocent.
