My day...not a typical one.

My days are usually pretty boring to the naked eye. School, bus, homework, sleep and then repeat. Doesn't seem like there is much time to hang out with friends because we get so much more homework than before and the bus doesn't get me home until 4:30. So... today I had an extra special day.

We had the day off. Days off mean being with friends. Being with friends means my day isn't going to be boring. I had about 8 people over. So, with 9 people total...what do you do? Well for starters, first you take my phone and hide it for about 30 minutes and make me do a scavenger hunt until you finally give up and let me have it.

Next, you bake cookies. We had a lot of cookie dough...so what do you do with 9 people...you make cookies! You don't actually do anything, you just congregate into the kitchen and watch one person put cookies onto a platter and then walk away.

Then, you go into the basement. This part was probably the only time people weren't screaming or yelling. You talk about hot guys when you actually have guys around. Then you talk about classes and old schools and all the embarrassing things you did when you were little. That was the only part of the day when things were calm.

But...when you bring down the freshly baked cookies that aren't cooled, you get some chaos. People start to play with the cookies and then you have a bunch of stuff on the ground. Soda was drinken and later during the day...you wish they didn't drink soda, the calmness has worn off.

We finally turn on a movie. People are sitting down and lying down, but that doesn't keep us from talking. The most random subjects are brought up. What is good hair, who watched what show, what you eat when you have breakfast...nothing seemed to be calm anymore.

At the end of the movie, when some people have left and you're only left with about 7 people, things change. People are tired after the movie, but the type of tired which results in a sugar rush. 4 of the people over were guys...now it may just be those guys, but it was like a tackle boot camp or something. People were poked like there was no tomorrow, we were throwing things at eachother, tackling eachother, flips over couches, nothing was normal. A few more people leave and you are left with 3.

With 3 people, everything is calm. That was the second part of the day when things were ok. You have one guy that is amazing at guitar and another who is good at singing and piano and you have your own special concert. Add in some lost shoes, a dog that is tiny but rough and you have my day.

My day doesn't usually go like this when I have people over, but it definitely is something I look forward to. Some new friends, some old friends, all is good. Can't wait for the next day off!
